At first glance: a meticulously painted reconstruction of the most famous CryptoPunk alien, the one that sold for twenty million dollars. Every detail, rendered from physical objects (blue bandana, green coffee container, magnets, and electrical tape) in rich, traditional oil on canvas.

This is a physical, hand-painted satire on the collision of worlds: the ultra-digital NFT market and the very analog act of painting. A jab at AI’s ability to conjure bizarre objects, and a mirror held up to the tension between crypto bros and traditional artists. The uncomfortable reality that a pixel can be worth more than most paintings, until someone paints it anyway.
